TELOS NM Diatomaceous Earth for Dry Loading in Flash Chromatography
Dry Loading in Flash Chromatography Dry loading is a common technique for loading reaction mixture samples onto flash chromatography columns. Whilst silica has traditionally been used, a more efficient approach is to use a diatomaceous earth such as TELOS® NM.
What is a diatomaceous earth? More commonly known as celite, a diatomaceous earth is a naturally occurring mineral that behaves as a support for techniques such as flash chromatography. One of the major characteristics is there is no retention of the compounds on the support - they simply coat the surface of the material.
Why use TELOS NM? TELOS NM is optimised for dry loading in flash chromatography. Add the required amount to the reaction mixture, evaporate off the solvent, gently tap the flash and you have a free flowing powder...no scraping the surface of the flask!
