TELOS Ion Exchange Silica-based SPE Products
Introduction
TELOS® Silica-based SPE columns from Kinesis are designed for the extraction and isolation of analytes from a range of aqueous and non-aqueous matrices. The comprehensive range includes SPE sorbents from each retention mechanism; including Non-polar, Ion Exchange, Polar and Mixed-mode SPE sorbents. Packed with sorbent masses from 50mg to 2g and reservoir volumes from 1 to 15ml as standard, the appropriate TELOS Silica-based SPE column can be selected based on sample volume and sample load requirements. TELOS SPE Columns are compatible with manual and automated sample processing, meeting the needs of all levels of throughput.
TELOS Cation Exchange Silica-based SPE Columns TELOS Cation Exchange Sorbents are used to extract basic analytes with a positive charge (depending on pH conditions) from aqueous samples. These sorbents can also be used with non-polar solvent extracts.
TELOS SCX (Ethylbenzene Sulfonic Acid) Strong Cation Exchange is suitable for ionisable basic analytes with a pKa range 8-12. This sorbent is a free Sulfonic Acid and is generally used for sample preparation of aqueous samples, but can also be used with non-polar solvents for polar sample clean-up. The primary interaction is Strong Cation Exchange, with some Polar and Weak Cation Exchange secondary interactions from the surface silanols at ? pH 3.
- Average Particle Size 50µm
- Average Pore Diameter 70Å
- Exchange Capacity 0.6meq/g

TELOS Anion Exchange Silica-based SPE Columns TELOS Anion Exchange Sorbents are used to extract acidic analytes with a negative charge (depending on pH conditions) from aqueous fluid samples. These sorbents can also be used with non-polar solvents.
TELOS SAX (Quaternary Amine) Strong Anion Exchange is suitable for ionisable acidic analytes with a pKa range 2-6. This sorbent is a Quaternary Amine with a chloride counterion and is generally used for sample preparation of aqueous samples, but can also be used with non-polar solvents for polar sample clean-up. The primary interaction is Strong Anion Exchange, with some Polar and Weak Cation Exchange secondary interactions from the surface silanols at ? pH 3.
- Average Particle Size 50µm
- Average Pore Diameter 70Å
- Exchange Capacity 0.4meq/g

TELOS NH2 (Aminopropyl) This sorbent (supplied as a free acid) can be used with aqueous sample matrices for the Weak Anion Exchange of strongly acidic analytes with pKa <1 or those with multiple acidic groups. The surface charge of the sorbent can be controlled by modifying the pH of the matrix, therefore allowing retention and elution of strongly acidic analytes that would otherwise be difficult to elute from a Strong Anion Exchange sorbent. This sorbent can also be used for Polar SPE of non-polar solvent extracts.
- Average Particle Size 50µm
- Average Pore Diameter 70Å
- pKa 9.8
- Exchange Capacity 0.4meq/g
