Introducing Kinesis KX EPA Vials

KX_EPAEPA vials (also known as VOA/VOC vials) are those that meet the requirements of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the testing of potentially harmful environmental contaminants in water or soil samples.

To be used for environmental analysis, EPA vials must be clean and free of substances that might influence the analysis.

Kinesis KX EPA vials are available in 20, 30, 40 and 60ml sizes, suitable for water or soil samples. They are made of chemically inert Type I borosilicate glass, in either clear, or amber for light sensitive samples. EPA (VOA/VOC) vials are 24mm screw top and suitable caps are sold separately.

EPA vials can also be used as general storage vials.

EPA vial caps

Sure-Clean cap

Both injection-type and solid storage caps are available for these vials. Our EPA caps are pre-assembled with silicone / PTFE septa permanently bonded to the cap to form an inseparable unit. This prevents liners falling out of caps and reduces the chance of contamination that can occur when caps are manually assembled.

We also offer the unique SURE-Clean cap which functions as both a storage and an injection cap and helps minimise evaporation and possible contamination of samples being transported from the field, whilst removing the need to change in preparation for testing.

SURE-Clean caps have a fully interlocking removable top (dust cap) that snaps into place over the septum. The 24mm cap is lined with a bonded silicone/PTFE septa which has been pre-conditioned to meet EPA standards. The exposed liner within the open top cap is completely and securely covered by the SURE-Clean dust cap, until it needs to be removed for analysis. The two-part design conforms to the same dimensions as existing caps, meaning that when the dust cap is removed, the vials can be immediately placed in the analyser.
