VideosEPA Vials
EPA vials are those that meet the requirements of the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the testing of potentially harmful environmental contaminants in water or soil samples. To be used for environmental analysis, EPA vials must be clean and free of substances that might influence the analysis. Kinesis flat bottomed EPA vials are available in 20, 40 and 60ml sizes, suitable for water or soil samples. They are made of chemically inert Type I borosilicate glass, in either clear or amber for light sensitive samples. A certificate of cleanliness is available is especially required for TOC analysis. EPA vials are 24mm screw top and suitable caps are sold separately.

EPA vial caps Both injection-type and solid storage caps are available for these vials. EPA caps are pre-assembled with a variety of septa, to suit a number of different applications. We recommend Ultrabond seals in EPA quality silicone / PTFE. Ultrabond seals the cap and the silicone / PTFE septum (liner) are formed in an inseparable unit, avoiding the issue of liners falling out of caps or contamination with sweat / fat that can occur when caps are manually assembled. Ultrabond seals are available in a closed storage cap (part number SCCSEP24-04EPAC) or in caps with a centre hole to facilitate injection (part number SCCSEP24-04EPAO).
Pre-assembled EPA vials and caps We also offer pre-assembled vial and closure combinations to further reduce possible contamination. There are three standard configurations, each using a PTFE / silicone, centre-hole cap:
